“Invent valuable things with my own hands.” It has been my dream since childhood

A new interview article for Mujinian voice series! Today I talked with Nori, who is working as a System Integration Engineer at Mujin.

After graduating from the prestigious robotics laboratory, “JSK,” at the University of Tokyo, he gained valuable experience at major enterprises, and joined Mujin last year. While he has such a brilliant career, he is super friendly, and I enjoyed talking with him :)

ーー How did you become interested in robots and integration?

I’ve liked making things since I was small. I used to build a wood deck and shelves, or to fiddling cars with my father. From these experiences, I’ve been thinking that it would be great if I could work for inventing things which are helpful and make people excited.

When I entered the University of Tokyo, I had decided to go on to either architectural or mechanical field, which is related to making things.

Through lectures and laboratory visits during freshman, I realized architecture is more about art, while mechanics, especiall…

We would like to get an inside look at how different roles contribute to Mujin’s success. Let’s start with the Human Resources division, which is responsible for a range of different functions. They recruit, screen, interview, train and place employees (Day 1: Each Person is Valuable)
Read on to learn more about Yuzuki, working for public relations and recruiting, who always smiles😀
Yuzuki’s career path Even though she loves her position, Yuzuki didn’t always dream of a career in recruiting/PR. When she was younger, she wanted to be a housewife. But then she found out she wanted to work closely with people.
Yuzuki has 5 years of experience working as a recruiter in Japan and overseas. During these years, she realized that to successfully hire talented people, being just a recruiter is not enough. She became interested in company branding and how it is important to communicate who you are and what you do to inspire them to get to know the reality of the company.
Yuzuki recalls that “W…

Hungry? There is a free lunch!

People connect over food - that’s why we meet friends, family, or dates for dinner or drinks. Sharing a meal brings us together and encouraged us to interact on a personal level.

Team building during lunch is a great way to increase cooperation within coworkers, improve communication among teams and, as a result, the power that comes when co-workers have fun together. That’s why one of the many benefits at Mujin is a free buffet-style lunch made fresh every day by our chef (please check our #benefits).

At Mujin, the original idea was to eliminate as many distractions as we can and continuously support our talents. All they have to do is think about coming in, and we, Mujin, take care of everything else they needed during the day.
But lunch time has become something more than just another meal. It has become a core part of our culture and employee satisfaction: it is a space for creativity, collaboration, and authenticity. Lunch time is now a venue for relationship building between te…

“Intelligent Robot Controller Development,” which Mujin has worked with 8 major robot makers, was awarded the Prime Minister Award, the highest rank of the 2nd Japan Open Innovation Prize by the Cabinet Office.

Intelligent Robot Controller Development
Collaborating with 8 major robot makers such as The Yaskawa Electric Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., Nachi-Fujikoshi Corp., Mujin has worked on the first open innovation in the robotics field to create new market but not to compete for existing market. We have developed “Intelligent Robot Controllers (Mujin Controllers),” designated as a common platform for industrial robots, and enabled robots to move without programming.
As a result, we realized process automation which has never been possible before as well as simplifying  and reducing the cost of implementation.

Happy Valentine's Day 💝
Today we had a Valentine celebration during the lunch time! While Mujin family is growing very fast, we value such warm-hearted culture.
At our lunch, our chef also prepared delicious hot chocolate, chocolate cake and brownie, and we enjoyed the atmosphere!
We all have friends at work! Valentine's Day isn't just for romance! Celebrating Valentine's Day in the office is a a chance to celebrate the vitality of workplace friendships. We decorate our dining and participated in special Valentines activities.

We share our “workplace love”! We use sticky notes to leave some warm messages to our friends  at Mujin whom we offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation! So many meaningful messages, love it!
One more activity is a cookie decoration! We provide small heart shaped cookies and special deco pen for icing. Looks like our employees have so much fun while doing it! Most of them draw hearts and immediately eat it (no time for the photo 😆), some of…

Speak & Lunch at Mujin

Just like how misunderstandings can occur in our daily lives, when we communicate with someone from a different background or culture, miscommunication within an organisation can be a big problem. The same problem might be understood or viewed differently by different employees.
Imagine that all your employees come from different backgrounds (Diversity: everyone is unique) and speak different languages. It would be very difficult to communicate effectively. So, how do we deal with this? Clear communication within an organization is one of the keys to success.
In Mujin, there are employees from 21 different countries. This fact makes Mujin a global company. A global company united by a common language.

During Speak&Lunch
It is said that people are shy to speak another language because they don’t want to make mistakes in front of others. At Mujin, we share two common languages: Japanese and English. Mujin provides weekly Japanese classes for those who want to learn, and to help so…
